Amendment 1 · Conservation-use property: maximum eligible acreage

Who votes: All eligible Georgia voters.

Increase the acreage cap for one owner’s qualifying agricultural or timber land under conservation-use assessment from 2,000 to 4,000 acres. The resolution retains the ten-year conservation-use covenant and tax-recapture conditions.

YES Approve the increase to 4,000 acres.

NO Keep the constitutional cap at 2,000 acres.

Require all Georgia probate court judges to be elected on a nonpartisan basis. This concerns how those judges are elected.

Amendment 3 · Dedicated fund for emergency 9-1-1 systems

Who votes: All eligible Georgia voters.

Authorize the General Assembly to dedicate specified existing revenues, including revenues reallocated by law, to a fund reserved for expanding, maintaining and operating emergency 9-1-1 systems. Money in the fund would carry forward instead of lapsing.

YES Authorize the dedicated, nonlapsing 9-1-1 fund.

NO Do not add this constitutional authority.

DeKalb County

Education sales tax renewal & school bonds (E-SPLOST)

Who votes: Eligible voters in DeKalb County; school-system bond provisions depend on your school district.

Renews the existing one-percent education sales tax from July 1, 2027 for up to five years, with a total collection cap of $1,046,154,324. Projects benefit DeKalb, Atlanta and Decatur schools. Approval within the DeKalb County School District also authorizes up to $500 million in general obligation school debt.

YES Approves the tax renewal and the school financing described in the question.

NO Rejects this proposed renewal and the associated financing authorization.

Asks whether the annexation of the land described in Senate Bill 622 should take effect. The question does not apply to every DeKalb or Tucker voter.

YES Approves the annexation act.

NO Rejects the annexation act.

SPLOST means a special purpose local option sales tax. E-SPLOST funds education capital purposes; TSPLOST is for transportation. A sales tax is different from a property tax or homestead exemption. Read each question’s rate, duration, spending limits, projects and any borrowing authority.

Approval thresholds and effects depend on the kind of question. Florida’s amendment rules do not apply to a Georgia ballot.
