Voter’s Pulse provides nonpartisan voting information at voterspulse.org. You can browse our county guides without entering personal information.
Your information
Voter’s Pulse does not save the address you enter for voting lookup or the phone number you enter to share a guide. Our optional address lookup processes your address temporarily to find your county, districts and published voting information. We do not write your address or estimated coordinates to a database or application logs, and we do not send them to analytics.
Your matched guide may stay in this tab’s session storage for up to 30 minutes, or less when a data provider requires it, so refreshing does not require another address lookup. It includes matched districts and public voting information, but not your entered address, estimated coordinates or sharing phone number. It expires automatically and is cleared when you choose Clear my lookup, start a new lookup or open a different county. Session storage normally ends when you close the tab; browsers that restore sessions may restore it until its expiry. If storage is blocked, the guide remains available only in the current page session. We do not ask how you voted in an election, or request an identification number or date of birth. Optional ballot-measure reactions are described below. An address match does not verify voter registration.
Cookies and website usage
This website uses cookies and similar technologies to measure visits, understand which guides are useful and operate the site. Google Analytics runs on our pages and uses cookies such as _ga and _ga_V90FPPQ08H. Measurement may include public page paths, browser and device information, approximate location and approved campaign labels on our printed QR links. Google receives connection information, such as your IP address. Advertising signals and advertising personalization are disabled.
Our analytics code excludes entered addresses, coordinates, phone numbers, matched district details and voting choices. It removes query strings and fragments from the page URLs it sends.
We remember dismissal of the welcome overview in this browser. We store a simple acknowledgement in this browser’s local storage so the cookie notice does not keep appearing. It contains no personal information and remains until browser storage is cleared. The notice is informational; dismissing it does not change how analytics runs. If storage is blocked, dismissal lasts for the current page session. Cookies remain until they expire or you remove them through your browser. Your browser provides controls for cookies and site storage.
Optional ballot-measure reactions
If you choose a thumbs-up or thumbs-down on a ballot measure, we save the measure, your reaction and a hashed random receipt in Netlify storage. Only combined support and opposition totals are public. The receipt is separate for each measure; it is not an account or a shared visitor identifier. It lets the service avoid counting retries twice and lets you change or remove a reaction on this browser.
Your browser stores each measure’s random receipt and your current selection. We do not attach your name, address, matched districts, phone number or analytics identifiers, and we do not link your receipts across measures. Reaction requests are not sent to Google Analytics. Removing a reaction removes that stored selection and adjusts the total. Clearing browser storage removes your ability to change an earlier reaction.
These are voluntary community reactions, not election votes, verified-voter counts or a representative poll. Different devices or cleared browser storage can allow additional reactions. Netlify may process connection information to operate the service and limit abuse; our application does not save IP addresses with reactions.
Sharing your guide
Text, email and sharing tools prepare a summary for you to review in your chosen app. We do not send messages for you or save the phone number. Your entered home address is excluded. Your messaging, email or sharing provider handles anything you choose to send.
Reporting a site issue
If you choose to report an issue, we save the selected issue type, your report text and the public page path in Netlify Forms for our team to review. Reports may also be delivered to our team by email. We do not attach your voting lookup, address, phone number, query strings or page fragments, and we do not send report text to Google Analytics.
Please leave names, home addresses and other personal details out of your report. Netlify may process connection information for spam prevention and service operation. Issue reports are separate from the temporary address lookup described above.
Services that help us run the site
We retain aggregate daily Google call counts and service-health events for seven days to protect lookup availability. These records and team alerts do not contain voter addresses, matched districts or IP addresses. A separate shared cache holds only the public election list for up to six hours, subject to provider cache rules.
Netlify hosts this website. An address lookup sends the entered address to the U.S. Census geocoder and, when connected, Google Civic Information API. Official state or county address locators may also resolve an address or its precinct. For supported Florida counties, the county's public precinct finder, hosted by VoterFocus, receives the street number, street and ZIP to return public precinct and election information; Voter’s Pulse does not request voter-registration records. Estimated coordinates are sent to public government map services, including services hosted by Esri. These providers may process technical information to respond to requests, operate their services and prevent abuse under their own policies. Our no-storage statement describes Voter’s Pulse’s application; it does not promise that independent providers keep no records.
Links to election offices, registration services and other websites follow those services’ privacy practices. Review the policies below for information about their handling of data and available privacy controls.
