5Candidates & offices

Includes federal, state, judicial and county candidates from Texas’s August 28 official certification, reviewed September 21. The county’s final November sample ballot controls any later changes and additional city, school or utility-district elections. A numbered commissioner or justice-of-the-peace precinct is not your voting precinct.

Understanding district and seat labels

A district number belongs to a particular office. Congressional District 20 and State Senate District 20 are different areas.

Read the office, its district or seat, and “Who votes” together. A numbered seat can be elected countywide. Your precinct is the county’s voting area used to assign your polling place.
