Registration & updates

Register for the November 3 election by October 5. A new Texas registration generally requires a signed application; follow the official instructions and confirm your registration and address with your county. This site’s address lookup does not register you or verify voter registration.

Ballot return deadline

November 3 · 7 p.m.; qualifying postmarked mail may arrive November 4 · 5 p.m.

Voting by mail requires an eligible reason, such as age 65 or older, qualifying illness or disability, expected childbirth within the specified period, absence from the county during early voting and Election Day, or eligible confinement in jail. The clerk must receive the application by October 23. Follow the application and envelope identification requirements. For most domestic voters, ballots must arrive by November 3 at 7 p.m.; ballots postmarked by Election Day at 7 p.m. may arrive November 4 by 5 p.m. Military and overseas rules differ.
