How to vote

Vote absentee by mail

Absentee voting by mail requires a qualifying reason under Tennessee law. The election commission must receive your request by October 24. Return the completed ballot by mail so it reaches the commission before polls close on November 3. Hand delivery is not accepted. First-time voters who registered by mail or online should check the in-person identification requirements.

October 14–29. Voting hours and sites are set by each county; no Sunday voting.

Use a designated early-voting site during the early-voting period. On Election Day, use any designated Vote Center in Williamson County.

What ID should I bring?

Bring photo ID issued by Tennessee or the federal government. Expired Tennessee or federal photo ID may be accepted. Student IDs and IDs issued by another state are not accepted. Check official exceptions and free-ID options.

Register by October 5. Confirm your residential address, county and districts through GoVoteTN. A Tennessee registration does not establish which city or school district you vote in.
