Amendment 1 · Conservation-use property: maximum eligible acreage

Who votes: All eligible Georgia voters.

Increase the acreage cap for one owner’s qualifying agricultural or timber land under conservation-use assessment from 2,000 to 4,000 acres. The resolution retains the ten-year conservation-use covenant and tax-recapture conditions.

YES Approve the increase to 4,000 acres.

NO Keep the constitutional cap at 2,000 acres.

Amendment 2 · Nonpartisan elections for probate judges

Who votes: All eligible Georgia voters.

Require all Georgia probate court judges to be elected on a nonpartisan basis. This concerns how those judges are elected.

YES Require nonpartisan elections for all probate judges.

NO Leave the Constitution unchanged by this proposal.

Amendment 3 · Dedicated fund for emergency 9-1-1 systems

Who votes: All eligible Georgia voters.

Authorize the General Assembly to dedicate specified existing revenues, including revenues reallocated by law, to a fund reserved for expanding, maintaining and operating emergency 9-1-1 systems. Money in the fund would carry forward instead of lapsing.

YES Authorize the dedicated, nonlapsing 9-1-1 fund.

NO Do not add this constitutional authority.

Henry County T-SPLOST 2 renewal

Who votes: Eligible Henry County voters.

Renew the 1% transportation sales tax for six years, April 2027 through March 2033, with an estimated $330 million for county and city roadway, intersection, safety, resurfacing, sidewalk and trail projects.

YES Approve the proposed transportation sales tax renewal.

NO Reject the proposed renewal.

Henry County floating local option sales tax (FLOST)

Who votes: Eligible Henry County voters.

Authorize a countywide 1% sales tax for five years, beginning January 2027 if approved, with proceeds used exclusively to reduce property taxes for the county and qualifying cities.

YES Approve the proposed property-tax-relief sales tax.

NO Reject the proposed sales tax.

Make sense of local tax language

SPLOST means a special purpose local option sales tax. E-SPLOST funds education capital purposes; TSPLOST is for transportation. A sales tax is different from a property tax or homestead exemption. Read each question’s rate, duration, spending limits, projects and any borrowing authority.

Approval thresholds and effects depend on the kind of question. Florida’s amendment rules do not apply to a Georgia ballot.
